About us:

We are Scott and Heather Lewis — a husband-and-wife team running a second-generation family farm. Scott grew up on the farm and holds degrees in beef cattle management and pre-veterinary science. Heather, a city girl turned country lover, has a marketing degree and experience working for Case Corporation and Xerox. Together, we take pride in raising and offering top-quality, pasture-raised beef, available as a half side or whole side of beef.

Is the meat USDA certified?

Yes, our processor is a USDA approved facility

What is the other 1%?

The last 90-120 days we feed them all the grass and hay they want, plus farm raised grains, proteins and minerals needed for marbling in the meat.

How is the meat packaged?

Freezer paper or an extra $0.25 cents per lb. for vacuum seal

How much meat do you get in a whole/half beef?

Approximately 500 to 800 lbs. for a whole side of beef and approximately 250 to 400 lbs. for a half side of beef

What cuts do I get with a whole and half side of beef?

Typical cuts for beef include an assortment of:

Steaks: Sirloin, New York Strip, Ribeye, Filet Mignon.

Roast: Sirloin Tip, Rump, Chuck, Shoulder, Beef for stew, Brisket, Ribs, Tri Tip

Ground Beef
(Bones and organs if requested)

How much freezer space do you need for whole/half beef?

Approximately between 16 to 20 cubic feet for a whole side of beef.
Approximately between 8 and 10 cubic feet for a half side of beef.

How do I reserve a whole or half beef?

$500 non-refundable deposit for whole and $300 non-refundable deposit for a half beef
Non-refundable deposit will be administered through ZELLE

How to pay the deposit?

Orders are not confirmed until your non-refundable deposit of $300 for a half or $500 for a whole side of beef has been received.

At this time we only accept secure ZELLE deposits which can be made from most banks. You can check the ZELLE app with the following link: ZELLE to confirm whether your bank supports ZELLE transfers.

To make the payment for your deposit, add Porter Creek Farms to your bank's ZELLE by entering our email: beef4saleportercreekfarms@gmail.com. Please include your full name and phone number in the message to recipient section.

What happens after I have paid the deposit and placed my order?

You will be sent an order confirmation when your deposit has been received. Final invoicing will be sent via email after the hanging weight has been determined. Delivery will be scheduled after the beef has been aged and processed (typically 4 to 6 weeks after deposit). When invoiced, you will be contacted to arrange delivery or pick-up (in Memphis at Raleigh Feed Store) of your order and final payment.
